Wood delivers highly customized, process specific operator training solution leveraging the VP Link simulation environment.  With VP Link, the trainees work with a copy of the plant graphics, in front of an off-line operator console while the instructor monitors and initiate malfunction scenarios.  It offers a fully functional process model for training can be delivered prior to start-up, to maximize its usage and boost operator confidence level for any upcoming start-up.

Think of VP Link as the virtual process practice plant.  When VP Link is connected to a distributed control system (DCS), safety instrumented system (SIS), or PLCs, the system’s logic will react to signals from the virtual process as though it is interacting with a live one.

Wood also offers immersive Operator Training Simulator (OTS) systems that leverage the power and realism of Virtual Reality (VR) technology.  These VR-enabled OTS packages provide trainees exposure to another dimension in learning and improved comprehension.

  • VP Links allows relevant tags, indicators and test scenarios to be gathered on dedicated pages, that can be organized by interlock number, loop number or tag naming templates.
  • When VP Link is configured with Performance Analytics functions, Operator/Trainee responses to process upsets can be logged and a grade can be assigned based on post-run log analysis.  The scoring scheme is customized to the dynamics of the process and real world operations procedures.
  • VP Link offers a wealth of tools to allow its database to be easily rebuilt at each new version of the control database, offering its users a wide range of flexibility.
